mit ALS z\u00e4hlt jede Sekunde. Nach der Diagnose verbleiben vielen Menschen gerade einmal 2 bis 5 Jahre mit dem Freundeskreis und den Liebsten. Familien lernen neues Vokabular \u2013 Magensonden, Mobilit\u00e4tshilfen, Stimmverlust \u2013, w\u00e4hrend derweil in Forschungslaboren eine andere, leisere Uhr beginnt zu ticken. Lange Forschungszeitr\u00e4ume entsprechen oft nicht der Dringlichkeit in der klinischen Praxis \u2013 und genau dieses Missverh\u00e4ltnis wollte <a href=\"https:\/\/www.answerals.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Answer ALS<\/a> \u00e4ndern.<\/p>\n<p>Answer ALS entstand aus der einfachen, aber wirkungsvollen Idee, dass Menschen mit ALS mehr als nur Patientinnen und Patienten im System sind. Sie k\u00f6nnen aktiv zum Fortschritt beitragen. Wenn Personen sich daf\u00fcr entscheiden, ihre Daten zu teilen \u2013 sicher, verantwortungsvoll und f\u00fcr das Gemeinwohl \u2013, er\u00f6ffnen sich ganz neue M\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr die Forschung.<\/p>\n<p>Answer ALS vereint Forschende, ALS-Erkrankte und Interessenvertretungen in einer offenen, gemeinschaftlichen Initiative, um die Entdeckung von Behandlungen und Heilungsm\u00f6glichkeiten voranzutreiben. Ziel ist es, einen sicheren Zugang zu detaillierten klinischen und biologischen Daten sowie den dazugeh\u00f6rigen biologischen Proben zu bieten, sodass die Wissenschaft biologische Untergruppen, Biomarker und therapeutische Ziele ermitteln kann. Doch in der Vergangenheit war der Besitz von Daten nicht gleichbedeutend mit deren Weitergabe in einer Weise, die den Forschenden tats\u00e4chlich half, schneller Doch der erste Versuch, diese \u00fcber eine akademische Einrichtung zu teilen, war von vornherein nicht auf Skalierbarkeit ausgelegt.<\/p>\n<p>In der Praxis funktionierte es mehr wie ein einfaches Datei-Repository oder ein Speicherort f\u00fcr alles \u2013 allerdings nicht auf eine Weise, in der man sich leicht zurechtfand. Zwar konnten Forschende technisch gesehen spezifische Gruppen ausw\u00e4hlen, dies erforderte jedoch Kenntnisse der Befehlszeile sowie ein hohes Ma\u00df an IT-Fachwissen. F\u00fcr zahlreiche Grundlagenforschende und das klinische Personal waren selbst einfache Fragen wie \u201eKann ich Daten von Frauen mit ALS isolieren?\u201c ohne erhebliche technische Unterst\u00fctzung nur schwer zu beantworten. Das Ergebnis: Dies schr\u00e4nkte die F\u00e4higkeit der Plattform ein, eine effiziente und eigenst\u00e4ndige Erkundung zu erm\u00f6glichen.<\/p>\n<p>Schlimmer noch: Der Workflow schr\u00e4nkte stillschweigend ein, wer \u00fcberhaupt teilnehmen konnte. Wenn Sie im Umgang mit der Befehlszeile nicht routiniert waren oder keine fundierten Kenntnisse im Bereich Computing und Speicher besa\u00dfen, war dieses \u201eoffene\u201c DataSet gar nicht wirklich offen.
